Power to ragdolls

Nvidia confirmed that many video cards will receive PhysX support on August 12 starting from GeForce 8, GeForce 9 and GTX-200 series first. Ageia started developing a dedicate phisic processor but the Idea of another expensive expansion card wasn’t well accepted but since Nvidia purchased Ageia in February it was announced that PhysX would have been incorporated in their GPUs.

Unreal Tournament 3 is one of the first games that will receive the above mentioned support with new maps but also Mirror’s Edge and Empire: total war will benefit of PhysX algorithms. However, this comes to a price. Turning on the PhysX acceleration will lower the frame rate in most of the cases.

Here you can have a little demonstration:

I’d like to drive a Warthog

I just had a car accident with an idiot that come out of a stop even without  slowing down. I didn’t get shocked or whatever. Just enraged. I has been like god used this spell on me, where X is the speed of that idiot driving the Ka.

Have you ever seen this in burnout?

A Heavy update

Last night the Heavy Weapons Guy Update for Team Fortress 2 was released togheter with a new game mode called “Arena”, 6 new maps, a new community map, and the new meet the team video. If a stratified edible device is part of the team…

You can check the whole update here: A Heavy Update.

Meat moves here, flesh wobbles there

Yesterday I enjoyed unlocking the Heavy new weapons/edible devices with my teammates and I spent some time testing TF2’s phisic engine watching a rolling bottle left by a dead Demoman and a Heavy ragdolling when riddled by Natasha’s bullets, and then I though “but TF2 doesn’t have characters with free flesh!”. In fact, The Heavy is muscular, not fat, and The Scout bones are firmly coded. I found this video because I needed to update my knowledge database besides crumbling walls and tornadoes…

I didn’t know phisics got so realistically curvy.

I like phisics.
