Chrome? It’s just blue!

Google launches his new browser! Google Chrome!

It’s built around the idea of security and performance and it sure augurs well. It’s still in beta and you can help the beta testing letting him collecting data about crashes, pages you visit, launched plug-ins etc. I already tried it and it’s very fast. Really impressive. It can load Gamers Inn’s homepage in seconds, including GameTrailers’ game trailers (w00t? I’ve really written this.), the latest comic and all the small pictures that embellish the site. It just couldn’t load the blog feed but I hope they fix it, considering the huge amount of WordPress blogs out there. I also browsed a couple of other sites but it wasn’t anything special. In his presentation, the GC team stated that GC has better memory recycling and handles every page with a separate process so I think I’ll have to stress it to really test its potential. I’ll keep on using FireFox for now, looking forward to the final release.

Newly added gadgets

Yesterday I made some major changes to the site. First, I added new plugins in the sidebar. Now you can shout whatever passes by your brain in the shoutbox, browse tags with a new (and more enjoyable) tag cloud and you can also add a picture to your profile which will be shown near your comments. To add your photo just go to your profile in the dashboard and upload one. It’s now also possible to reply to comments just clicking the “reply” link under a comment and the comments will be nested up to 20 replies.

I also changed the structure of the tags. Previosly, there was a tag for every character appearing in a comic and a tag for the game the comic is about. Now i deleted all the characters tags except Gamers Inn characters and added only game tags. IE: if you want to read comics with Cloud you have to click the Final Fantasy tag. I know this is less useful but using one tag for every character appearing in just one comic was a waste of resources.

Following thedamage suggestion,  i created a new steam group you can find on the contacts page of this site. Feel free to join it if you want to challenge other readers of the comic.

I just saved €40 on awesomeness.

Yesterday I spent my last 1000 WiiPoints to buy Bomberman Blast on WiiWare and it plays so good! In other words, I just payed for what I needed. Who needs a boring single player mode when you have the never-out-of-fashion battle mode? The battle is greatly customizable with power ups, pick ups and special modes and you can even play online (though I still have to) in 8 players matches! I guess a bomberman session doesn’t have to send many packets to tell just where the player and their bombs are :) . The only flaws I noticed are that it’s not so easy to move like in bomberman 5 and you can’t tell when a bomb is going to explode. In fact, in bomberman 5 the bombs pulsed three times before exploding and you knew if you could get closer or not, but that’s supposted to not being in your opponent’s advantage, ehe.

Yes, it's that chaotic. Is it a bad thing?

Update to WordPress 2.6.2

I updated the site to take advantage of some security fixes. I’m sorry for the downtime you experienced but I had to delete and upload again all files. In the next days I’ll also update to ComicPress 2.5 but first I need to change the whole css style. If you find something weird, disturbing or wrong please let me know, I could fix it right away or in the next update.
