Nintendo DSi

Today Satoru Iwata, president of Nintendo, annouced a new entry in the Ds family. The Nintendo DSi is the response to the recently launched iphone. In fact, the DSi will have a 3 megapixel camera a SD card slot to save music of pictures, it’s thinner and it has wider screens. It’ll also benefit of a new DSWare service similar to WiiWare ant it’s connectivity with the Nintendo Wii will be enhanced. The downside are the removal of the GBA slot and a less durable battery.

Personally, I’d like to see which games are going to support these new features, because (as always) I’m not going to pay for something that doesn’t offer anything new compared to what I already have. Let’s hope for the rumored Metroid Dread or a new 2D, top-view, Zelda like Four Swords. Only time will tell.

“Prepare to drop next fall.” – “Sorry, what?”

Apparently it’s just what Bungie said about the new Halo 3: Recon at Tokyo Game Show. In H3:C you’ll play as an UNSC Orbital Drop Shock Trooper (ODST) in Mombasa while Master Chief and friends are busy saving the world on Delta Halo and you won’t meet them in any circumstance. As for the gameplay, the game is completely based on Halo 3 so the single and multiplayer modes will feature 4 players co-op, film saving and the forge editor. The game should play exactly as the trailer shows: remain hidden, keep quiet, there’s plenty of covenants out there, it’s dark, it’s rainy and you have to get into position in 1′30”. Now move your ass, soldier!

Auto-running prohibited

Imagine you had to move your body for every move you make in a videogame. Wouldn’t it be a pain in the ass? That’s why videogames are so enjoyable as they are. You can fill your belly with croissants and peach juice while sailing from Windfall island to Dragon Roost island (really occured) without bothering to keep the rudder steady. Anyway, these guys though they needed a “reality shock” (thanks to Enrico for the link).

Way better than WiiFit. Don’t you think?
