Too wide social network

Yesterday I asked Catman if it was him to give away my MSN contact because lately I’m added by people I don’ even know and I ended up telling him the method I use to get rid of contacts I don’t need. Next, I adapted it for you as an algorithm in Delphi code. Feel free to use the result of a programmer’s boredom.

procedure CleanContacts(Username: String; Password: String);
var
  i: Integer;
  Save: Boolean;
  Contacts: TMSNContactsList;
Begin
  Contacts.LoadFromAccount(Username, Password);
  For i := 0 to Contacts.Count - 1 do
  Begin
    Save := Contacts.items[i].Friend Or
      ((Contacts.items[i].ContactSex = csFemale) And
      (Contacts.items[i].SizeBust > 70) And
      (Contacts.items[i].SizeWaist < 80) And
      ((Contacts.items[i].SizeHip < 100) Or
      (Contacts.items[i].SizeHip > 70)));
    If Not Save then
    Begin
      Contacts.Block(i);
      Contacts.Delete(i);
      i := i - 1;
    End;
  End;
End;

Life updates and a plush

Yeah, I know i had to post this earlier but…

…I wanted to test my new digital camera. I bought Kirby about three weeks ago while I bought my camera last week. I know I usually also take a picture of myself with the plush but I get an emotional club on the gums of self-esteem every time I see myself in a shot (not to mention I have the eyes of a drugged at this time of the night). I’ll use my new camera for Photoshop purposes, HDRI, retouching, cute girls and so on. Be sure to check my deviantART account sometime to see what I’m working on. With this I’ll really be able to bring on my motto: “I can work on it in Photoshop”.

For the gaming report, Catman is playing Little Big Planet day and night while Emuboy is… well… let’s just say that I could enter his house, rob all of his X360 stuff and he wouldn’t notice. And that would come in handy! Not because I could finally play Halo 3 (I’m still waiting for the PC version. Yes you can laugh, bastards!) but because I could try some Xna programming on the X360. Lately, Catman and I have been thinking about a game in Xna. Something like Gauntlet, Castle Crashers and Zelda: Four Swords. I yet have to write a single line of code but the gameplay and the elements are already set. Just don’t expect much from it as this game will come after many things in my scale of priorities, that’s something like this:

  1. Eat – That’s right: COOKIES!
  2. Work – I have to.
  3. Comic – I have to have to.
  4. Gaming – My repressed violent instincts need to.
  5. Sleep – Who doesn’t?
  6. Do nothing – That’s what the internet is for (not porn).
  7. Game programming – In a brand new language! Yay!
  8. Looking for a soul mate – Contact me if you feel worth it or just buxom.
  9. Sleep again – Do I have to justify this too?
  10. Fraggin’ n00bs – I’m on a mission from God.

I actually should switch #7 and #8 but… whatever, as Squall would say.

Before I fulfill #5 I want you to check out DRIVEY. It’s a graphic demo that you can use also as screen saver. I think it’s got style. What do you think? :)

I lost my life. Many times. In the same pit.

I just finished my “swear night” playing Super Mario Bros The Lost Levels. The level designers did an incredible job putting everything in the right place just to kill you. Furthermore, Mr. Soap Feet Luigi isn’t the right man for a game where most platforms are 2 blocks wide. It was funny though. I took a couple of pictures while playing (the second one isn’t fake. I really jumped over the flagpole).

I needed to play some old school games due to the fact that Mirror’s Edge for PC won’t be out until this winter and Kirby Super Star Ultra won’t be out until January 2009. If you look forward to play some next gen games on your PC in these days you may consider updating your DirectX drivers to the latest release (both DX10 and DX9). Tomorrow is also the release date for WiiMusic in Europe. You’re champing at the bit, aren’t you? Or maybe not…

WiiMusic hands-on, Mirror’s Edge hands-off

I had a chance to play WiiMusic and it’s pretty fun. Don’t get me wrong, I made the last comic to engage in controversy about the bad sales of WiiMusic. Many people complained about the track list of the game and its seemingly non-existing goal. It’s true, I didn’t like the tracks either but you should consider that they are chosen for the game. In Guitar Hero there are only tracks with guitar scores and in Donkey Konga there were only tracks with good percussion instruments, thus WiiMusic needed tracks with a lot of instruments and the songs I saw in the game are perfect for its purpose. WiiMusic doesn’t have notes to follow and it completely relies on the player. It’s the perfect game to sit and enjoy playing without any score-hunting or competition with friends. If you liked WiiSports and WiiPlay you’ll also probably like WiiMusic as well because it really is the game you play for 10-20 minutes when you come back from work and just want to relax.

If you want to see the full-sized fake cover I uploaded it for you, alongside with the real WiiMusic cover.

Mirror’s edge is also finally out but I can’t play it (waiting for the PC version :P ). I’ll just rely on Catman’s review of the demo on PSN. He told me Dice did a great work and denied the rumors I heard about the bad dubbing (at least for the Italian audience) but I would like to hear it first-person (pun intended). Anyway, Faith will be back on the comic because she’s way too pretty and charismatic.

I know some of you may be disappointed but I don’t think Metroid SR388 will ever have a playable demo or a beta because its creator is having some trouble finding serious people for beta testing after showing a teaser of the demo. We’ll have to wait for the final release and this makes me think we haven’t heard of any new Metroid game yet. We’re now sure that Retro Studios won’t work on Metroid any more and this leaves a great legacy to the future but how long will we have to wait for any new 3D or 2D game? Only time will tell, sadly.

Friday is Tomb Rider Underworld’s release! I can’t wait to play it but while I wait I should think of a comic too. I didn’t have an idea for TRU in two months, damn it! *headbangs on the desk*

maybe that was useful… I’m having an Idea right now…

Edit: Oh shit. Now I have two ideas.
