The day of the accident

Mr. Freeman is going to relive the nightmare he had in 1998 with better graphics. Here’s the teaser of BLλCK MESA, the Half Life remake with source. It will be completely free, like very other HL2 mod if you already own Half Life 2. Looks like it will actually hit our HDDs on 2009 (not December 31, I hope) and will keep our salivation steady until the release of Half Life 2: episode 3.

Run or die panting

Dice just announced his Mirror’s Edge Time Trial Map Pack that will be made available at the end of January after the PC release of the game set for January 13th in the USA and January 16 worldwide. I still alive have to play the game but this video managed to make my heart stop for a few seconds. It’s just… breathtaking.

Feels like Super Mario Sunshine’s secrets, and that’s not a bad thing. Here are the formalities: METT Map Pack will cost 10$ (or 10€, if I know the market) or 800 Xbox points. Luckily, PS3 players will be able to download an additional map for free. Is it just me who feels kicked in the guts for loving a newborn series on his custom-built PC?

Punching sacks

While the release of Street Fighter 4 slowly approaches, media molecule found a way to tease us with new sackboys inspired to the popular beat’em up. Chun Li, Ryu, Guile and Zangief will be available from this week PSN update at the price of 2$ each or 6$ for the whole crew. I already hear the tapping on the pads to create new levels just for them.

Now, a poll update! I really appreciate the feedback you gave me about the site style through the poll but I see someone don’t like it completely or don’t like it at all so please comment. I’d like to know what you find ugly or hard to read, navigate and so on.

The new poll I added comes from a question I saw many times in forums and chats and nobody took the time to count the hands of those who are favourable or contrary. C’mon, cast your vote. I know the majority of the people passing by here are males.

Crossover and Game over

Little big planet sold. Metal Gear Solid 4 sold. The next step was obvious for Sony. The new MGS4 LBP pack is available for download with new sackboys, new levels and even a new tool called the “paintinator”. It’s finally possible to shoot in LBP but I wonder why Media Molecule didn’t do it in the first place. Maybe they didn’t want a 2D Unreal Big Planet to take place…

Onto to the bad news, Factor 5 and Free Radicals are now closed. The effects of the economic recession can be perceived even through past and future, because Time Splitters 4 is now vacant though Someone says that a newly founded “Pumpkin beach” software house will hire all the previous Free Radical workers. Let’s look at the bright side, the recently unemployed Nick Carver gave us some cool artworks for TS4.
