Sleek!

The new style is ready and active! I finished it yesterday evening and waited ’till midnight to activate it. I couldn’t write this post before because I… uhm… had to kill two Lv3 specters in 39 turns and I was also sleepy.

You’ll notice I changed a couple of things from the previous style. First, the comic navigation has been moved under the comic and replaced with large buttons while the blog navigation is on top of the post column and on the bottom of the column if you are browsing the posts five by five. Second, I added a “Stories” page if you need to go back and browse only the stories. You may also have noticed that you can reply to comments and use avatars. I decided not to force you to register to gravatars.com like in normal wordpress blogs because I preferred allowing you to have a different avatar here. To upload it just go to your user page in the site admin panel here: http://www.gamersinncomics.com/wp-admin/profile.php (you can also reach it clicking on the “Site admin” link in the Action menu on the right). On the bottom of your user page you’ll see a box named “Your photo”. Use that browse button to upload it (I suggest you to use a square image because it’ll be resized to 50px * 50px for thumbnail use). I would like to change a couple of things but they’re not the easiest thing on earth and I’ll do it as soon as I figure out how to do it nicely.

For the games column, Kirby SuperStar Ultra is in stores now. I’ll have a ride to the mall on Saturday for that. Here are two screenies to compare the first version and the remake.

Also, if you have some spare time, be sure to check this awesomeness: Rial Bout Feital Fiuri. I just wish someone cosplayed Blue Mary :( .

Life updates and a plush

Yeah, I know i had to post this earlier but…

…I wanted to test my new digital camera. I bought Kirby about three weeks ago while I bought my camera last week. I know I usually also take a picture of myself with the plush but I get an emotional club on the gums of self-esteem every time I see myself in a shot (not to mention I have the eyes of a drugged at this time of the night). I’ll use my new camera for Photoshop purposes, HDRI, retouching, cute girls and so on. Be sure to check my deviantART account sometime to see what I’m working on. With this I’ll really be able to bring on my motto: “I can work on it in Photoshop”.

For the gaming report, Catman is playing Little Big Planet day and night while Emuboy is… well… let’s just say that I could enter his house, rob all of his X360 stuff and he wouldn’t notice. And that would come in handy! Not because I could finally play Halo 3 (I’m still waiting for the PC version. Yes you can laugh, bastards!) but because I could try some Xna programming on the X360. Lately, Catman and I have been thinking about a game in Xna. Something like Gauntlet, Castle Crashers and Zelda: Four Swords. I yet have to write a single line of code but the gameplay and the elements are already set. Just don’t expect much from it as this game will come after many things in my scale of priorities, that’s something like this:

  1. Eat – That’s right: COOKIES!
  2. Work – I have to.
  3. Comic – I have to have to.
  4. Gaming – My repressed violent instincts need to.
  5. Sleep – Who doesn’t?
  6. Do nothing – That’s what the internet is for (not porn).
  7. Game programming – In a brand new language! Yay!
  8. Looking for a soul mate – Contact me if you feel worth it or just buxom.
  9. Sleep again – Do I have to justify this too?
  10. Fraggin’ n00bs – I’m on a mission from God.

I actually should switch #7 and #8 but… whatever, as Squall would say.

Before I fulfill #5 I want you to check out DRIVEY. It’s a graphic demo that you can use also as screen saver. I think it’s got style. What do you think? :)

It’s a long way to november.

My father turned 50 this friday. Best wishes!

I bought Metroid Trilogy and Kirby Super Star Ultra (finally). Both very good port/remakes, especially the Kirby one. Kirby Super Star was the first Kirby game I ever played and I beat it countless times. Replaying it is like having an HD deja-vù in my mind.

I’m also playing Final Fantasy X and P.N.03. The second is a very good shooter I shouldn’t have missed for so long while the first is giving me the same feeling again. I don’t know why, but in every Final Fantasy, when I get the airship and I can wander around looking for side quests the game becomes boring. Apparently because there’s no actual countdown to the end of the world and our heroes could loaf about for the rest of their days. Maybe the player should be compelled to fight the final boss once, before being able to complete the rest of the game starting from the last save point. My two cents.

About a week ago I was playing L4D in a public game. We were just outside the airport terminal when a tank charged and killed Zoey, leaving all of her stuff on the ground. Then Louis walked by and this happened.

A Halo 3 ODST comic is on schedule. Sorry to keep you waiting.
