A laggy killing spree

What a shame. I finally managed to buy me a 10m ethernet cable to play Halo 2 properly but now I must admit that it’s one of the worst ports ever. Graphic issues, slowdowns, crashes make impossible to play properly for more than half an hour. If Halo 3 has to be ported like this then leave it to on 360. Anyway I can now play TF2 and unreal 2004 a lot better and I think I’ll soon download Warrock again. It looked cool when I had the crappy wireless connection (I still have it but I don’t use it for games any more, guess why) and with the ethernet it should definitely be a lot of fun. So you can try to catch me online for a match or two. My nickname is darkstar02 (I hate Warrock’s credentials system) and I’ll probably play on the italian or UK server. For other unrelated news: tomorrow I’ll finally receive my Intuos3 grip pen, after almost 2 months since my order!!! As soon as I figure out how to use it properly you’ll notice a drastic change in Gamers Inn graphic quality. I’ll use it predominantly for artworks though so you’d better check out my deviantART page.

When spring comes…

…my mother gets allergies. Other than that, my birthday is on March 22 and this year is even Easter eve :o

I’ll be pretty busy these days but I think ‘ll be able to post the next comics with no delay. About yesterday’s comic… I know it doesn’t have that much of a punchline but came to my mind two days ago and I though I yet had to draw a comic about metal slug and a little tribute was necessary. Now I’m using my tablet for most of the work and I’m really happy of the result. I can now draw effects that would require years if done with a mouse and look even better. I’m currently drawing only the pencils with a pencil (of cours) while inks, colors and effects are made in photoshop and this dramatically reduced the time needed for a comic, leaving me more time for Team Fortress 2.

I started playing it again these days and went back on my good ol’ Sniper, instead of the Pyro, which looks far less dangerous. In fact, I think the damage of the flamethrower needs to be increased. I mean, it’s his main weapon and I frag more with the shotgun than with it. The flames aren’t so good either. They can be asily healed and estinguish automatically after a few seconds. Another question. Doesn’t a flame burns more on its top? Why Valve suggest to get closer to the enemy when using the flamethrower then? I’ll report this to Valve as soon as I remember it when I’m at home. There must be a reason if every n00b can use a Soldier and frag as hell while Pyros can barely light up enemies before being shot down by a Ranger.

Bonk!

When everybody though Valve stopped pleasing his fans with team fortress trailers “Meet the scout” was released. Bonk!

Oh, I’m sorry, mate.

I really apologize for the mistake regarding the comic being published in the news category and thus not being showed properly but I couldn’t fix it properly until this morning. I’ve been away for two days and I’ve got another travel scheduled for tomorrow. I’ll still be able to finish the comic in time, anyway.

I really couldn’t play anything in the last few days but I’m definitely going to spend the whole week-end in TF2 to unlock every Pyro achievement. I’ll have my revenge on soldiers.

In the meantime you can enjoy the new “Meet the Sniper” video from Valve.

A word of wisdom for every achievement-hungry gamer out there: do not play the Pyro if you’re n00b at it. Pyros need lots of practice to master and you wouldn’t use the new weapons if the Pyro isn’t your class. Like I did with the medic, for example. The Ubersaw may look good, but I’m not a medic and now I don’t really need to unlock it (consider also that a medic swinging the ubersaw in close combat is ridiculous).

I’ve also been playing Mass Effect lately and I admit that it’s really a great rpg. Though the difficulty looks a bit unbalanced in some steps it’s really enjoyable and pushes role playing to its limit.

EDIT:

Valve’s Team fortress update notes extract: “Removed Soldier’s 40% damage reduction from his own rockets.”

*raises the middle finger in front of the attending soldiers*

Mind manipulation?

It looks like Valve’s got a great influence over TF2 players. They release “Meet the scout” and every server gets 3 or more scouts per match, they release the medic achievement pack and every team turns to a non-offensive, 1 to 5 Soldier-Medic ratio, ubercharge and bonesaw madness. You may have guessed what happened in the last week end after the Pyro pack and “Meet the Sniper” were released. For the first time since i started playing TF2 I sniped more Pyros than Heavies.

With the recent updates I also got a connection problem. My pc randomly loses the connection to the server I’m playing in. Sometimes it connects again, other times the 25 seconds pass and I’m forced out of the game. This pisses me out. Did somebody had my same issue?

Brawl’ll be out this Friday. At last. Freakin’ translations. I think I’ll unlock everything during my vacation in august. I don’t have much spare time lately, with mass effect and UT3 installed :D

Note to friends: I still have to buy two more Wiimotes. If you don’t want to play Brawl the classic way with NGC controllers just don’t expect to come to my home and play a 4-players free-for all.

Catman told me he wants to have a 12-hours Brawl marathon when I get it and Ganon and AoA will join for sure. You can expect a few pics of ourselves in shorts and undershirt in the next weeks.

Talking about world heating: did anybody invented a full-body heat screen? I don’t want to evolve to a white mirror-plated lizardman or something, though I would learn Cassandra’s moveset.

I noticed a strange resemblance between Computer Love by Kraftwerk (july 1981)and Talk by Coldplay (december 2005). Just listen to these videos, especially the first one. Somebody may shout “plagiarism” but I’d say “Coldplay did a good job”. Building a new song from 6-7 notes isn’t easy at all.

Let’s clear it out.

Horray for the 100th room!

I wanted to write this earlier but this is the first spare time I have had in the last three days and it won’t last long, I’m already launching Steam to play Team Fortress 2.

In case you’re wondering who will the next updated class be I can tell you that the Heavy is next in the list but unfortunately we don’t have any clue about the new unlockable weapons. The TF2 development team asked the whole community to think of the new weapons and you can read it here: A Heavy Problem.

Ok, let’s get serious. I think all of you who screamed “Nintendo betrayed us” and “screw you Miyamoto” in the last few days should read this interview: Shigeru Miyamoto: The man behind the Nintendo Wii.

Read it? OK, you can go back wondering about the next Zelda now.
